UFSC Master Mentorship Program

The UFSC Master Mentorship Program is an initiative of the Prorectorate for Outreach and Extension (PROEX) that values the contributions of retired faculty and staff from the Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina, recognizing their continued potential to benefit society.

The program offers individual or group mentoring, fostering knowledge exchange between two or more people. In this process, the mentor—a retired faculty or staff member from UFSC—brings a wealth of experience and shares technical and behavioral insights with the mentee(s).

The mentorships are free and open to the national and international community, including faculty, staff, undergraduate and graduate students, primary and secondary education students, school teachers and administrators, professionals from various fields, and anyone interested in expanding their expertise in specific areas.

What types of mentorships are available?

  1. ACADEMIC CAREER MENTORSHIP: supports faculty and school teachers in planning their academic careers, helping them identify the best paths for professional growth and equipping them to meet the demands of their teaching practice.
  2. PROFESSIONAL MENTORSHIP (FOCUSED ON CIVIL SERVICE): assists professionals in developing the skills needed to excel in their work and identify opportunities for career advancement.
  3. UNDERGRADUATE EDUCATION MENTORSHIP: helps students address learning gaps and build the knowledge required to develop specific skills.
  4. GRADUATE EDUCATION MENTORSHIP: supports students in acquiring the knowledge and skills essential for success in graduate studies.
  5. BASIC EDUCATION (INCLUDING UPPER SECONDARY EDUCATION) MENTORSHIP: supports the development of essential knowledge and skills for basic education students and guide teachers in adopting new approaches within their area of expertise.
