UFSC Master Mentorship Program
The UFSC Master Mentorship Program is an initiative of the Prorectorate for Outreach and Extension (PROEX) that values the contributions of retired faculty and staff from the Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina, recognizing their continued potential to benefit society.
The program offers individual and group mentoring, fostering knowledge exchange between participants. In this process, the mentor—a retired faculty or staff member from UFSC—brings extensive experience and shares technical and professional insights with the mentee(s).
The mentorships are free of charge and open to the national and international community, including faculty, staff, undergraduate and graduate students, primary and secondary education students, school teachers and administrators, professionals from various fields, and anyone interested in expanding their expertise in specific areas.
Types of mentorship
Academic Career Mentorship: supports faculty members and school teachers in planning their academic careers, helping them identify pathways for professional development and respond to the demands of their teaching practice.
Professional Mentorship (focused on Civil Service): assists professionals in developing skills for workplace performance and identifying opportunities for career advancement.
Undergraduate Mentorship: helps students address learning gaps and develop the knowledge required for specific skills.
Graduate Mentorship: supports students in acquiring the knowledge and skills necessary for success in graduate studies.
Basic Education Mentorship (including upper secondary education): supports the development of essential knowledge and skills for basic education students and guides teachers in adopting new approaches in their areas of expertise.
